Elgin Golf Club Junior Academy

Junior Academy - Elgin Golf Club

Welcome to the Elgin Golf Club Junior Academy

In 2025 we are excited to be launching the Elgin Golf Club Junior Academy. The aim of the Junior Academy is to help nurture and advance the potential of those Juniors currently enjoying the benefits of Elgin Golf Club, and to build upon those levels of enjoyment, dedication and commitment to the game of golf.

During involvement within our Academy Programme, individuals will receive free club membership, plus an individual coaching voucher to be used with an Elgin GC PGA Professional. The value of the coaching voucher allocated will be dependent upon which group the Junior has been assigned to.

The bespoke coaching programme will provide an extra support network, which will be tailored to meet the individual requirements of each Junior, helping them unlock their true potential and reach their own set of unique goals.

First and foremost, this is a development programme, so we therefore anticipate the demographic of the Academy Juniors to be of various ages and abilities. We are looking to support fledgling, intermediate and more advanced Juniors. This is a wonderful opportunity for those with a passion for golf to excel. We are looking for young open minds, a readiness to learn and a willingness to adapt and commit to Junior Golf at Elgin GC.

Initially this programme will be funded via the Junior Development Fund that we have been building up over the last few years, with plans to further enhance with fundraising activities over the next 12 months.

I am now actively working with various departments within Scottish Golf to progress our Junior Programme over the next few years. To be able to do this, I will require the assistance of our membership to perform a variety of tasks from Squad organisers, support on competition days as well as practical support learning the game & etiquette. Full support from Scottish Golf and I will be available to anyone who would like to become involved.

If you may be interested, please feel free to get in touch with me and I can host an information evening about the various support roles that a successful Junior Programme would require.
